Hamilton homes and what they need
Hamilton's neighbourhoods are not interchangeable. Stoney Creek mixes older bungalows with newer detached homes and townhouses, and EV circuits and panel capacity come up often. Ancaster has larger homes and lots alongside historic village streets, and service upgrades are common when kitchens and garages get reworked. Dundas is full of character and century homes where careful rewiring and panel updates matter more than speed. Westdale has older brick homes that need a clear plan before any walls open.
The escarpment also affects access, meter location and exterior runs. That's why I don't quote over the phone for Hamilton properties. I come out, look at the panel and the house, and give you a real number.

Permitted work includes the ESA permit and inspection. If your project includes a utility service change, I'll tell you the expected outage window and any utility appointment you need to be home for. If you're renovating, send drawings or even a simple sketch of the new kitchen, range or basement suite before the visit. Load and circuit planning goes a lot faster with that in hand.
Why Mohawk Electric
We have been family-owned since 1979, we hold a 5.0 rating on Google from 40 reviews, and I'm Lutron Pro certified. You get the same owner-operator on a Hamilton job as on a Niagara job. I explain your options, including when a smaller fix makes more sense than a full service change.
If you're comparing a few electricians, that's smart. Ask each one for their ECRA/ESA licence number, whether permits are included, and whether the quote covers inspection.
For EV chargers especially, check panel capacity before you order hardware. Buying the charger first and finding out the panel can't carry it is a common and avoidable headache. I'll size the circuit, tell you what the panel can handle, and book the install with the ESA permit included.
