Burlington homes and what they need
- Aldershot: older character homes and bungalows next to newer houses, townhomes and condos along Plains Road. Panel space and garage charging come up often in renovated homes.
- Downtown and the waterfront: older detached homes and bungalows plus condo living. A house panel upgrade and a condo unit with building rules are very different jobs.
- Mountainside: established mid-century homes, bungalows and split-levels. Lighting, new circuits and service capacity are common requests.
- Tyandaga: larger homes on bigger lots near the escarpment, where exterior lighting runs, garage circuits and service size often matter.
I don't quote average prices on this page. Service size, wire routes, utility coordination and finish repairs drive the cost more than the postal code does, so I come out and look first.

ESA permits and inspections are handled on permitted work. A lot of commuter households in Aldershot and along the QEW add a charger and workshop circuits during the same garage upgrade. If you've already picked a charger, have the specs ready for the visit. If you haven't, I'll size the circuit and give you clear requirements so you don't buy the wrong unit. Condo and townhome owners should check corporation or board rules before we book, because access to electrical rooms and outside walls isn't always yours alone to approve.
Why Mohawk Electric
We have been family-owned since 1979, we hold a 5.0 rating on Google from 40 reviews, and I'm Lutron Pro certified. I tell you up front what your panel can support before you buy equipment. If you're comparing quotes, ask each electrician for their ECRA/ESA licence number, whether permits are included and how inspection is handled. Those answers matter more than a glossy brochure.
Many Burlington homes I see are mid-renovation: a finished basement, a new kitchen, a hot tub out back. Each of those adds load, so it pays to plan the circuits together instead of one at a time. Tell me everything on your list when you call and I'll tell you what the panel can carry and what order makes sense.
